About Organization
-The Terrain d'Aventure is the ideal place to tinker. Many tools and recycling raw materials are there, very accessible. Young people are turning more to outdoor crafts, especially under the courtyard. A new equipment crate layout system has been introduced, making it even easier for young people to feel inspired. The creation of miniature huts, skateboards, supports for archery or darts, dolls, and especially insect hotels to experiment with the drill and promote the ecosystem of the field. -Young people have free access to cooking and utensils. They learn to be independent and responsible in their diet. They learn how to clean and store utensils after using them. They learn how to read recipes, measure quantities, … the collective kitchen is very present at the Field; the young people cook for everyone and a collective distribution is planned after the large common storage. -In autonomy or with animators, the young people meet around a table of games. This activity is extremely successful at the Field and new games are often recovered and/ or purchased according to the demand of young people. Aside from the playful aspect, board games allow an exchange between young and old and we have it for all ages. Concerning the more complex games, the big ones support the younger ones. There is a real exchange because both young people and animators sometimes bring new games from home to share. Some of the younger ones like it so much that they reach a very good level and frequently develop very surprising levels of reflection. Gradually, the cooperative games met with real success. -From neon painting, to collective frescoes, to the decoration of masks and self-portraits, painting is accessible at any time. Young people can paint on all surfaces both outdoors and indoors. They are autonomous, they know where the equipment is, where to wash it and where to store it. It is a free and intuitive means of expression that seduces both children and adults. This year we have redesigned the painting corner, for more accessibility (in smaller jars, labels explain where the different tools are stored...) Our wide range of recycling stationery can be a real source of inspiration to make, undo and above all create. -Our vegetable garden is gradually transformed into a perennial vegetable garden, cultivated with as many permaculture principles as possible. It is an activity that helps to develop awareness of the living, community, respect for flora and fauna,… and generates interesting moments of exchange with young people. Discussions start and thus promote the relationship between young people. The vegetable garden productions are intended for our cooking workshops, allowing everyone to make the link between life that emerges from the ground and the pleasures of tastes, smells and flavors that feed us. -We organize several outings with young people: outings to museums, exhibitions, cinema, ice rink, theatre, concerts and festivals. -We give young people the right to do nothing, if they do not want to do activities.
