Virtual Exchange Center

The Virtual Exchange Center (VEC) focuses on the promotion of internationalization and provides comprehensive training and support for higher education institutions. These offerings cover a spectrum of needs: professional development workshops, English instruction for both academic and administrative staff, the creation of EMI (English as a medium of instruction) international courses, and a focus on innovative pedagogy, including training in pedagogical use of digital tools and AI in higher education. A core component of our operation is the promotion, design and implementation of the new pedagogies and curriculum in higher education through a variety of tools (such as generative AI), EMI courses, joint international courses, and virtual exchanges. We have extensive experience in delivering customized training on the design and implementation of cross-disciplinary and specialized virtual exchanges in higher education settings with an emphasis on the methodologies relevant to online instruction, curriculum design, development of soft skills, intercultural competencies and digital literacy. We support institutions with their internationalization-at-home strategy, intercultural competence development, innovative pedagogies, and technology in education. VEC is engaged in international projects as an integral contributor. Our roles span from program development, project management and implementation to quality assurance and dissemination events. Central to our responsibilities are the development of curriculum and programs, techno-pedagogical training of the faculty members and virtual exchange facilitators, and the seamless integration of the program across various higher education institutions. In 2023, our organization has supported/engaged over 1210 instructors from over 15 countries. During the previous year 2024, over 2350 participants from over 78 countries have participated in VEC activities. https://www.virtual-exchange.center/
