About Organization
Bandırma Municipality is a local government institution located in Bandırma, Balıkesir, Türkiye, a coastal city on the southern shore of the Sea of Marmara with a population of approximately 170,000. The Municipality works to improve the quality of life of local residents through sustainable urban development, environmental protection, social inclusion, culture, youth, digitalisation, and innovative public services. As a municipality, we aim to develop practical and locally relevant solutions that respond to the needs of our community. Bandırma Municipality has experience in European and international cooperation and is interested in participating in Erasmus+ projects, particularly in areas related to youth, environmental sustainability, climate action, digitalisation, social inclusion, capacity building, and innovative approaches to local governance. The Municipality is also working on climate and energy-related initiatives, including the implementation of its Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) and actions supporting energy efficiency, renewable energy, climate adaptation, sustainable mobility, green public spaces, and climate resilience. As a local authority, Bandırma Municipality can contribute to projects by providing a real-life urban environment for pilot activities, demonstrations, stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and testing of innovative approaches. We can also facilitate cooperation with relevant local stakeholders, including public institutions, educational institutions, civil society organisations, young people, and local businesses. Through Erasmus+ cooperation, Bandırma Municipality is interested in exchanging knowledge and good practices with European partners, strengthening the capacities of local stakeholders, and developing solutions that can be adapted to the local context and transferred to other communities. We are open to cooperation with municipalities, universities, NGOs, youth organisations, research institutions, and other relevant European organisations seeking reliable local government partners for Erasmus+ projects.
