SUD CHIAMA NORD PER L’ECOLOGIA INTEGRALE

SUD CHIAMA NORD PER L’ECOLOGIA INTEGRALE is a no-profit association involved in many activities throughout the social fabric. In a first place, it promotes environmental awareness and environmental protection working together with other similar organizations and with schools and institutions, especially in organizing activities on the ground like beach littering, awareness campaigns in schools and in the streets, workshops, involving especially future generations. Additionally, thanks to its expertise, the association is involved in IT technologies promoting activities like web programming, social inclusion through gamification using digital tools, promotion of digital alphabetization in youngsters and in specific target groups as neets and middle aged people who needs training to stay in the marketplace as workers. Moreover, the association is involved in promoting active citizenship campaigns, in promoting arts, culture, sport activities. It has good ties with other organizations and institutions of the territory like the town hall, a centre hosting migrants, sport and cultural associations, environmental associations, schools, decision makers. Specific target groups of our activities on the ground are young people age range 16-35, neets, people from disadvantaged background due to social, cultural or economic barriers, decision makers, institutions like town halls and schools, migrants, people who needs training in digital competencies to stay in the marketplace. The city of Giardini Naxos in which the association operates is a touristic pole together with the near Taormina. The work is mainly seasonal, that is why a lot of families, especially during the winter, face economic difficulties and social deprivations. Youth are facing several challenges like drug dealing, school dropout, lack of education and professional qualification, in this perspective the association is a point of reference in order to offer to this youth a path for education, awareness, active citizenship.
