About Organization
Mission Youth Work Europe is a social enterprise, a not-for-profit NGO, that works to promote the principles and practice of youth work. We are committed to encouraging and developing partnerships with youth workers, youth organizations, young people, and communities who demonstrate respect for the integrity and independence of young people. We encourage the development of a critical dialogue with all those who share our commitment to emancipatory and liberatory youth work. We promote good youth work practice through a range of pan-European initiatives: Study visits across Europe; young people and worker exchanges; youth worker mobility opportunities to share good practice; short training courses and research. In collaboration with our European partners, we promote youth work practice that is inclusive, and respects the dignity and integrity of all groups and challenges negative stereotypes and oppressive narratives. Through our projects and programmes we enable the development of inclusive youth work practice which locates young people within the heart of their communities and encourages and develops community cohesion amongst all groups. Together with our associates, Youth Work Europe has experience in a broad range of youth work practice, education and training: open youth work based in centers; detached/street work; gender and relationship work; information and guidance; health and wellbeing promotion work; youth council and youth participation; and community development. We have a strong international network with youth work practitioners, policy institutions, NGOs, academics and lobby groups either as associates or partners.
