ANA Foundation

ANA Foundation was founded in 1996. The main activities since then relate to cultural actions, youth policies, international youth exchange, being the spokesman for European initiatives, promoting personal development, education (trainings for youth), partnership development between public administration and civil society, cross border cooperation. We implemented projects promoting Romania's image in other countries, i.e. "Bucovina. Local, regional and national level- project funded by ANSIT; Customs and traditions from cross border area in the context of promoting democracy at local level - funded by PHARE; Ethnic communities fair(4 editions); Sucevita-400- under the scepter of Movila family - funded by Govern of Romania; Sustainable development of cross border partnerships - funded by PHARE CBC 2005; Bucovina- an example of European multiculturalism- funded by Ministry of Culture; Cultural stereotypes - project funded by European Programme Youth in Action. Another goal of Ana Foundation is to help sick children who need expensive treatment, to help disadvantaged families, to offer scholarships, etc. Since 1996 money donations exceed the amount of 18 millions RON. Also there have been food, clothes and medicines donations. For national and important religious holidays (Easter, Christmas, Children's Day) we give presents(toys, sweets and clothing) to children in foster care and from disadvantaged families. We collaborate with local authorities and social services in order to increase the number of people receiving help. Currently Ana Foundation has subsidiary offices in 4 other towns of Romania and we are planing to extend our area of activity covering the regions considered vulnerable economically and socially. In 2009 we signed a partnership agreement with an organization from Swiss - Helvetia House - which sends monthly aid consisting of clothing and other material goods for families socially vulnerable. Among other activities we have a cooperating relationship with School Inspectorate and specific educational institutions from Suceava (high schools, University). An important objective of our organization is to establish a strong network consisting of efficiently working nongovernmental organizations able to promote not only the region but also the country at European level, a network of organizations facing and solving problems of the community they live in and preparing the young generation for helping in achieving those goals.
