KAND - Center for Social and Cultural Development

KAND – Center for Social and Cultural Development is a non-governmental organization established with the aim to increase social, economic and cultural well-being of citizens in general, and youth in particular, by contributing in improving their social position, through promotion and fostering of sustainable human development, democratic citizenship, principles of good governance and inclusive education. Objectives: • To increase citizens’ awareness for democratic citizenship, including here human rights, gender equality, non-discrimination, peace building, intercultural dialog, public participation, community mobilization,; • To enhance social, economic and cultural development of young people, especially for those of rural areas and non-majority communities; • To promote and apply an inclusive non-formal education with young people. KAND is a youth-founded and youth-led NGO. Membership is open to every person, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, age or physical/mental abilities. KAND has its office in Gjilan.
