NGO “Human Rights Organization "Human Rights" was founded on 24 November 2011, has the all-Ukrainian status and extends its activities in 17 different regions of Ukraine: Kyiv city, Kyiv, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Rivne, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy, Chernihiv Poltava, Ternopil, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Kherson, Kharkiv regions, Bila Tserkva district organization, Boryspil town organization, Irpin town organization of Kyiv region. The NGO has its own registered social and legal newspaper "Law and Person", scientific-analytical journal "Research Center of Disability." The NGO specializes in protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, first of all, provision of free legal assistance to citizens, establishment of the rule of law state, ensuring equality of rights and freedoms of all citizens, promoting gender equality and extending of right and opportunities of women and girls with disabilities. Among the NGO’s priorities are the projects aimed at improving the situation of persons with disabilities, including women (girls) with disabilities, enhancing their social status in society, promoting gender equality and extending of right and opportunities of women and girls with disabilities in accordance with the UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The permanent NGO’s staff consists of 12 employees. The total number of members is 120 people. The number of volunteers is more than 30 people. The correlation of women and men in the organization is about the same. The experts of the NGO “Human Rights Organization "Human Rights" possess the knowledge and methodology to collect and analyze information (including the specific practices that are necessary for work with vulnerable groups); possess skills to provide constant legal, psychological, informational assistance to IDPs and persons with disabilities (women); possess the experience of successful cooperation and lobbying for political decisions in state authorities and local governments; have stable relationships with partner organizations, volunteer movement and enjoy authority and trust of beneficiaries themselves. Thus, the abovementioned characteristics demonstrate the possibility of successful implementation of this project and the prolonged use of the results by beneficiaries after the project completion.
