Negotiation Is The Best Policy

Since the first time human beings started to interract with each other, communication has been the most indispensible notion. Verbal communication which is the most distinctive and dominant feature of us distinguishes humans from other creatures as well as our ability of non-verbal communication, including gestures and mimics. A healthy communication is essential to strenghten the ties between individuals and lead us to overcome the existing problems. We have determined, with the results of the applied questionare about workplace satisfaction, that we mostly need to establish a healthy communication, to reduce misunderstanding and being misunderstood, to create a democratic school environment via a reconciliatory approach and participating school and class managements. We have aimed at adopting participatory and pluralism with our teachers, students, staff and administrators to establish a school environment which has avaliable reconciliatory and effective communication methods. Thus, we started our research setting up a Project Commission. With our database searching at Turkish National Agency, we have ed with a foundation in Slovenia which gives the education of Transactional Analyze Approach. The approach of Transactional Analyze can be defined as to be able to establish a good relationship using the right and effective verbal and non-verbal methods between individuals. In our following researches, we have discovered an new foundation in Italy which gives education with the theory of Soft Skills. We have had an opportunity to search the programmes by ing with them. And Soft Skills is defined as to overcome mamagement crisis, improve problem solving skills and exhibit a reconciliatory attitude. We have planned two mobilities with our 12-people-group including two groups of 6 people of teachers from almost each branch and two administrators. We have aimed at gaining the objectives like preventing generations conflicts by using effective communication skills, minimising misunderstanding and being misunderstood, improving emphaty skills and expressing themselves correctly with the participation of all our teachers to the training. With the collaborative works, seminars and symposiums of our school Counseling Service, Düzce Counseling Research Centre and Pedagogy Department of Faculty of Education, Düzce University, we have planned to disseminate the outputs of our Project to our school, other schools and the whole province in turn. In a peaceful and safe environment, individual’s feeling much happier, more successful and creative is known to be a fact. We would like to be a model for all segments of the society with our project establishing such a school environment. Now we are looking for partners from different countries such as Slovenia,Italy,France,Spain etc. We could discuss and re-build our aims and improve them together.
