Jazz ao Centro Clube

JACC is a non for profit cultural association which was created in 2003 in the city of Coimbra. It's main focus is the promotion of musical culture with special emphasis in Jazz. In it's 15 years of activity JACC developed a wide range of projects, from the jazz.pt magazine to the Digital Archive of Coimbra Historical Centre, mantaining a very relevant small size venue (Salão Brazil), a label (JACC Records) and producing and programming festivals such as Sons da Cidade, Jazz ao Centro - Encontros Internacionais de Jazz de Coimbra (Festival Jazz ao Centro), XJazz - Encontros de Jazz nas Aldeias do Xisto, Dar a Ouvir: Paisagens Sonoras da Cidade. At the present time we are developing a series of partnerships involving higher education (University of Coimbra), secondary and primary schools and informal groups of artists, activists and educators working together to bring positive social transformation to our neighbourhood, city and region.
