Mersin University Psychology Community

Mersin University Psychology Community is a student body within Mersin University. Our community's volunteers is composed of the University's psychology students and we, as a non-profit organization, conduct local studies. Founded by psychology students on 06.05.1997, the Psychology Community organizes activities for students within the University with its years of experience and working culture. In addition, the main purpose of the psychology community is to provide communication between students and provide an environment in which students can brainstorm about different topics through the activities they carry out. Some of our activities; • We organize a "Meeting tea" event and play a variety of games to meet the students who are new to our university and our community. • We have movie viewing days for the students again. we analyze the film by a psychologist we invite. • We discuss many issues related to Psychology by setting up discussion teams. • We organize informative conferences and seminars on various piscological topics together with university professors who are experts in their field. • We organize workshops, to educate students about important issues in psychology. • To relieve the stress of exam periods, we organize a fun event called "psycho-party." • We organise visits to alzheimer's centres and aged care homes and do a variety of activities with them so that older individuals don't feel alone. • We regularly provide food assistance and visit to our lovely animal friends living in poor condutions in shelters. • We visit "ZICEV", a center for people with mental disabilities, and do various activities with the people there such as listening to music and dancing. • We regularly perform "Breakfast Talks" for both breakfast and exchange information with experienced psychologists or students. people get an education in the mood to chat while having breakfast. • And in our biggest event, "Psychology Days", which we organize every year, we invite and host the best university teachers in Turkey to give seminar in our university within the framework of a theme we have determined.
