About Organization
Ortoteatro is an NGO based in Pordenone formed by professionals developing actions to promote culture, art and social cohesion through theatrical languages and non formal education for the young generations. Ortoteatro is an artistic reality that operates for over forty years in the theatrical field. It works in different areas: production, organisation and distribution of shows with particular attention to the world of childhood and youth. Primarly importance is given to the training for teachers; training for educators and professionals, for children and teenagers. Ortoteatro successfully manages three important theatrical structures at territorial level. At regional level it is recognized as an institution of cultural relevance. Since 2013 it has started a research about puppet theatre, by organizing a biennial exhibition to give cultural-artistic thickness and visibility to this particular art form. It is a member of UNIMA (International Association Union of Marionettes). Ortoteatro focuses on the following areas: • Cultural growth especially thought for younger generations • Training for teachers, educators, professionals, children and teenagers • Puppetry heritage • Intergenerational dialogue • Active citizenship both on European and local levels • Ecological awareness
