About Organization
Kreisjugendring Garmisch-Partenkirchen (KJR) is the democratically elected umbrella organisation of youth associations in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and forms part of the Bayerischer Jugendring (BJR), the statutory umbrella body representing youth work and youth organisations in Bavaria. We represent the interests of children, young people and young adults towards local politics and the wider public and support volunteer-based youth work in numerous clubs, groups and initiatives across the district. As a non-profit provider of youth work, we design and implement a wide range of non-formal education activities: holiday camps, participation projects, inclusive activities, civic and political education, as well as international youth exchanges. Kreisjugendring runs its own facilities and mobile services, including a youth centre, two youth lodges in the Bavarian Alps, and various mobile play and sports offers such as a play bus, a street soccer court, an inflatable bouncy castle and further equipment that can be used by local youth groups and communities. In this way, we create accessible spaces where young people can shape their free time, gain new experiences and take on responsibility. Our work is guided by the values of democracy, participation, inclusion, diversity and respect. We empower young people to actively shape their environment, stand up against all forms of discrimination and promote an open, solidarity-based European perspective. For us, international youth exchanges are a key contribution to peace, mutual understanding and the idea of a united Europe. Working with us means joining a dynamic team of dedicated volunteers and professionals who are passionate about making a difference in young lives – locally and internationally.
