AristoTales

AristoTales is a non-profit development, cultural and educational organization based in the village of Stratoni in the municipality of Aristotle, a rural and remote area in the region of Chalkidiki. The organization is grassroots oriented and its general objective is the sustainable socio-economic development of its inhabitants and recreation of the region. The activities of the organization are in the areas of culture, education and civic development. The specific goals of the organization are: 1) To study the problems of the region and, as far as possible, to provide practical assistance to the relevant organizations in the implementation of projects of all kinds in the area; 2) The cultivation of feelings of altruism, philanthropy, voluntarism and love, through which the strengthening of the bonds of good neighborliness and the most comfortable, dignified and unobstructed housing and living for all residents and visitors to the community of Aristoteles shall be achieved; 3) The pursuit of cooperation and synergy of the organization with institutions of the municipality and other regions of Greece and abroad, so that through actions the goals of the organization are better achieved; 4) The participation and implementation of all types of plans, projects and actions to improve the lives of citizens; 5) The sensitization and cultivation of the inhabitants to the values of democracy, the European Union, human rights, respect for others and their active participation in the decision-making process; 6) The promotion of non-formal education and its contribution to the development of people's personality; 7) The research, study and protection of the cultural, folkloric and historical elements of the region, ensuring their protection and promotion; 8) The protection and awareness of the natural wealth of the region and the care for its protection, promotion and enhancement; 9) The planning and implementation of collective and social actions for the benefit of citizens and stakeholders; 10) The empowerment of young people in the region and the provision of incentives, targeted actions, initiatives and programs for social integration and education for disadvantaged young people; 11) The participation as well as the creation of international, regional and local networks of civil society entities with similar objectives or other private or public entities with special interests and the implementation of joint actions; 12) The protection of the environment in general, the management of climate change and the promotion of sustainable development through studies, awareness-raising activities and the formulation of proposals in this direction. Activities: - Proposals, recommendations and studies for the restoration of the area; - Participation in negotiations and consultations to solve problems in the area; - Organization of information and awareness campaigns; - Organization of talks, lectures, presentations and demonstrations; - Organizing popular festivals, meetings, excursions, exhibitions, radio programs, theatrical performances and, in general, events on social, housing and cultural issues; - Organization of conferences, educational and training programs, and entertainment, sports and cultural events; - Publishing an information magazine, brochures, books or printed or electronic promotional material for the area; - Design and implementation of educational programs and foreign language courses, educational seminars, art and cultural seminars and courses, sports courses, etc. - - Planning, participation and implementation of all types of European, international and regional programs of the EU, the Council of Europe, international and local institutions related to the objectives of the organization; - Creation, reconstruction, beautification and support of cultural and museum spaces (public or private in cooperation with the relevant bodies or not), e.g. library, museum spaces, sports spaces, parks, recreation and information spaces, youth, wellness and information kiosk centers, etc; - Recruitment, training and management of volunteer groups - Implementation of local volunteer activities;
