Denizli City Council Youth Assembly

The young people living in Denizli and aged between 15 and 30 haven’t been able to take part in the process of democratic decisions of civil society in an efficient way due to some reasons such as; unawareness, inequality of rights, limited right for representation. The statistics show that the active participation to the civil society among young people in Turkey is at a low level like %4. On the grounds of this defficiency and problem, the activities in our project aim at the following objectives: • Determining the young people with limited opportunities and increasing their efficiency in the process of democratic participation. • Creating an awareness of the right for representation • Providing a cooperation between the civil society and the youth, and training the young people with the non-formal methods and techniques of democratic participation • By observing the democratic participation and the operation of representation mechanisms of the abroad workshops, developing an intercultural interaction among young people • setting up a vision of leadership that is capable of making their own decisions in the youth policies of future by preserving and developing the rights of the youth who are stucked within the decision mechanisms.
