European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels)

The European Centre of Excellence (ECE Brussels) is an independent Brussels-based think tank dedicated to strengthening democratic governance, digital transformation, strategic communication, AI literacy, youth participation and European cooperation. We design and implement European, regional and national projects that promote active citizenship, inclusive policymaking, digital skills, media and information literacy, innovation, and sustainable development. Our work brings together young people, civil society organisations, public institutions, academia and international partners to create practical solutions to today's societal challenges. ECE has particular expertise in communication and visibility for EU-funded programmes, capacity building, policy dialogue, stakeholder engagement and the design of educational and advocacy initiatives. We organise training courses, workshops, study visits, conferences, research activities and awareness campaigns, while supporting institutions and organisations in strengthening democratic resilience, countering disinformation, promoting digital inclusion and preparing societies for the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence. Through partnerships across Europe, ECE contributes to European integration, intercultural dialogue, youth empowerment and international cooperation. Our activities place a strong emphasis on inclusion, equal opportunities, human rights, innovation and evidence-based policymaking, helping build more resilient, digitally capable and participatory societies.
