About Organization
Kuressaare Vanalinna Kool is a basic school located in Kuressaare, on the island of Saaremaa, Estonia. Our school has approximately 390 students aged 7–16, studying in grades 1–9. Our aim is to provide a supportive, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where students can develop their knowledge, skills, creativity and confidence. We value openness, innovation and friendliness, and we believe that meaningful learning happens through cooperation, active participation and real life experiences. Our school community is interested in developing new approaches to teaching and learning, supporting student wellbeing and inclusion, strengthening digital and media literacy, and creating opportunities for students to take an active role in school and community life. International cooperation is an important part of our development. Through Erasmus+ and other international projects, we aim to exchange experiences and good practices, develop the professional skills of our staff and provide students with opportunities to communicate and collaborate with young people from different countries and cultures. As a school located on an island, we are particularly interested in building connections beyond our local community. We welcome cooperation with schools and organisations across Europe and are open to student projects, staff exchanges, job shadowing, training activities and other forms of international collaboration.
