About Organization
One of main statutory purposes is voluntary service, activity, peer education and youth initiative promotion as alternative to passive behaviour among young people. This purpose is fulfilled through: • project activities within local community, for example actions and recurrent classes for children and young people from the most socially neglected quarters of Toruń and villages around Toruń; • international youth projects; • sending and taking in volunteers from EVS; „Motyka” holds status of central unit of The German-Polish Youth Office. It is also sending (for an unlimited time), taking in and coordinating organisation of Youth in Action Programme (until the end of September 2013). Between 1999 and 2012 „Hoe” executed over 30 projects of German-Polish and trinational exchange (with participation of German partner) and over 20 international multilateral projects. For about 50 EVS volunteers „Hoe” was sending organisation, but it also had 5 volunteers over in Toruń. Problematic aspects of modern Europe, and especially role, which young people can play in shaping its future, democracy rules, respect for human rights and cultural differences have appeared repeatedly among varied subject area of local and international projects. Examples of such actions were: • „My future? New chances for growing youth” project (international project executed in Germany in 2008) • European Youth Week (local project executed in Toruń in May 2011, involving cycle of workshops and actions within urban space promoting social activity) „Motyka” is going to take part in all stages of execution of project called "At Home in Europe". At present we are working at project concept and participating in attendee admissions collectively. After the beginning of project activities we are going to tweak programme and administrative details of leader preparatory meeting and next three meetings in Poland, Latvia and Portugal – collectively too. „Motyka” representatives are going to take a part of organizing and substantive tasks, for example accommodation and board issues, constant with project participants, carrying out games aiming at getting to know each other and group integration (during first meeting in Poland).
