"Jedinstvena organizacija mladih - JOM" or "Unique Youth Organization - UYO" is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit, multiethnic organization of socially responsible young people who work on organizing educational, cultural, voluntary and information content in cooperation and partnership with all sectors of society builds its own capacity, strengthens local and the wider community. It was founded in 2002. It currently has 48 members of all ethnic groups present in B&H. Members of the UYO have implemented over 25 projects in various sectors of social life and different contents (music, culture, sports, information, ecological, human, educational, etc.). All of these projects were implemented with the aim of improving the quality of life and develop more urban way of thinking in young people and other groups at the local and regional level. Vision: "Social equality and justice of the citizens in rural and urban areas at local and regional level." Mission: "Capacity building through creation and strengthening of partnerships and network cooperation within and among the basic sectors of society." The primary program objectives of the organization: - Capacity building by organizing educational workshops and other forms of non-formal education; - Animate and create habits of the citizens to actively participate in all spheres of life and work of the community in which they live; - Social integration of citizens within and among the basic sectors of society as a way of reducing the national and regional and sectoral polarization; - Promotion of tolerance, peace, human relations, universal human rights and freedoms, integration; - Multiculturalism and the idea of building trust and quality of living together; - Commitment to improving the legal, economic and social situation of young people in society as well as for raising environmental awareness of the individual and society; - Creation and development workshops and small enterprises on the basis of economic - social activities. Our activities are focused in several program areas: non-formal education and lifelong learning, employment and labor market, arts and culture, intercultural dialogue and social activism, environmental protection and sports. We are actively working on the development of key competencies of young, career development and informing young people, encouraging and empowering young people to activily volunteer in their local communities, network with stakeholders from business, civil and public sectors and providing support and supervision of young people in planning and implementation of various project ideas and initiatives aimed at socio-economic development on local level. Active projects: - "Center For Youth Career Development" aims to encourage employment and strengthening the competitiveness of young people of the municipality Tesanj in the labor market. We are working to establish a synergy between the business sector and youth through the development of supportive environments for (self)employment based on cooperation between public, private and civil sectors. The project is on anual basis and it is successfully implemented for 12 years now. Brings together young people from different social and creative profiles. Rastok Fest project enables young people to become agents of cultural change and promoters of democratic processes, peace, tolerance, volunteerism, cultural diversity and understanding, non-formal education and human rights. Vision of TABA program is developed and conscious society dedicated to personal and social development of young people, based on the principles of voluntarism. TABA program encourages young people to become active citizens, to be hired locally, to gain a unique experience that will develop their leadership skills and ability to build a network of youth leaders/activists who learn together and act to take advantage of common resources and contributed to the development communities in which they live. Values: - The program will involve young people who may have been marginalized! - The program will support the development of a network of young people from different communities to share ideas and best practices in the field of social cohesion and community development! - The program will contribute to the development of volunteerism, community and mutual understanding and support of young people from different communities! - The program will encourage the development of youth leaders! Objectives: - Contribute to the development of positive social change, - Strengthen the capacities of young people in the field of volunteerism and community development, - Establish a network of youth leaders/activists who learn and work together and identify the needs of local communities.
