MENTORES

Mentores is social enterprise in the fields of culture, education and tourism ruled under the recently established law . It was created to support social and cultural integration, cross-cultural dialogue, non formal artistic, entrepreneurial, environmental and civic education addressed to children and youths and -where appropriate- to adults and senior citizens. Its activities are focused on educational/pedagogical interventions, artistic shows and performances, promotional and participatory athletic and physical activity events, awareness raising campaigns and special actions for the protection of cultural heritage, environment and traditional products and organization of alternative touristic packages for diverse social groups. It documents the activities with the production of media files, paper and digital publications. Professionalism, extroversion, ingenuity and sensitivity towards social happenings are key elements of Mentores’ activities. Fields of enrollment • Cultural and resource attracking events • Festivals and exhibitions • Actions for social intervention and social entrepreneurship • Information and dissemination services for agencies and the public • Publications • Management of exchanges and mobility for education • Services for tourism training • Training, management and evaluation of European Commission projects • Organization of stagecraft workshops: theatrical costumes, puppetry, masks, renovating old-fashioned clothes and T-shirts to new fashioned, art with discarded or natural materials et al. • Organization of workshops for elocution, narration, creative reading, acting, expression and communication • Production of movies, animated cartoons, digital media, printed works and books, illustrated scripts, lyrics, dramatization of myths and literature. Although Mentores is a young entity, its founders are fairly competent persons with sound and lasting experience in social, educational, cultural and alternative tourist operations, indicatively : -Organization of festivals and exhibitions (e.g. artistic encounters in European cultural centre of Delphi, in Elassona Thessalias, in Olympic Stadium in Athens, in Los Palacios y Villafranca; feta cheese fiesta in Elassona Thessalias). -Edit of publications (e.g. activity manuals based on the Articles of the Charter of the Fundamental Rights of the EU, on the town twinning, on solidarity, on stereotypes). -Production of audio books containing fairy tales’ narration. -Creation of songs and production of music sheets (e.g. Glossolalia, Vigilance, Adelfosini) -Implementation of many multilateral exchange projects with diverse thematic involving either youths and social workers or artists among EU countries or between EU and Mediterranean counties or between EU and South American countries or between EU and Eastern European countries. -Realization of social tourism programs involving deaf people, seniors, families, university students and youths in general of different national backgrounds. -Organization of tourist programs for Greek diasporas, i.e. university students born in Canada. -Realization of many craft workshops for children, youths and women, including old clothes’ renovation. -Preparation and staging of a number of performances based on different art forms (drama, dance, music, video-art), e.g. Lysistrata by Aristophanes, A Marriage Proposal by Anton Chekhov, The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde, etc.
