Colegio Corazonistas

We are a catholic private school, financed to a large degree by the Basque Government. Our school was founded in 1903, but it was completely renewed in 2000. Our mission is the integral development of children and teenagers in accordance with the Christian humanism. We are deeply committed to the continuous improvement in the educational work, as well as the new technologies and the multilingualism. We have currently about 80 teachers and 1.200 students, aged from 2 to 18 years old (including nursery, primary, secondary and post-secundary education). We are located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, capital of Basque Country. Most of our students live in the surroundings and belong to the middle class. Nevertheless, we also have students from other countries like Lithuania, Brasil, Senegal or Estonia. Our subjects are taught in Basque language (40%), Spanish (40%) and English (20%). Moreover, from the 7th class (12 years old) on, our students have the possibility to study German or French as a second foreign language until they leave school with 18 years old. It is also possible to study Latin in the classes 10th and 11th. In addition, we have been carrying out student exchanges with Germany and France for the last 15 years. Another strength is the wide range of scienctific subjects than can be studied in the classes 11th an 12th (i.e. anatomy, biology and geology, laboratory techniques, chemistry, etc.). Besides, we have three excellent labs for natural science, physics and Chemistry, where our students can put into practice what they have learned in class. In the last years, our school has received several awards of which the "Quality Gold Award" (2009) is the most important one, which recognises our high standard in teaching as well as our effort to achieve the excellences in scopes like administration or management.
