About Organization
The Guard Parish is a local public entity, located in Portugal, in the district of Guarda. The current Guard Parish has a land area of 40Km2 and a census population of 26,000 inhabitants. We are therefore, by population size, associated with the group of the largest parishes of Portugal; and, in the district of Guarda, given demographic reduction and displacement of the population to other latitudes, the parish is the second largest municipality immediately after the county itself. Our parish embraces the entire city center, the old town, the urban environment - as goes beyond the urban center - and rural notably Clay Hill locations Quintazinha the Mouratão, Sequeira, Carapito and Cabreira. It is therefore in our parish, the importance of the city of Guarda as district headquarters, which headquarter the main public services, the main associations representing the associative sectors, business and others. It is also the city of Guarda that we now have the headquarters of the Inter-Community borders and Serra da Estrela that adds 15 counties and are intended to have an important word in its development as a whole. The city's strategy is to invest in people, especially on young people, their skills, providing them with tools that allow them to settle in our territory.
