Tady v Rožnově is a new non-profit organization with the main aim to improve interpersonal relationship between members in community, especially among two generations, young and old people. This aim will be reached by the various activities in community center in the town of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. Many researches show that the interactions among generations are on the low level. Both old and young people have negative age stereotypes and prejudices. The current situation creates the pressure for young people to study, build the career and be successful. Many elderly people can feel socially excluded and lonely. The solidarity between generations should be one of the main topic in the field of community work. The intergenerational dialogue is important, young people should be encouraged to pass their knowledge to retirees. Older people should pass their knowledge and experience to younger generations. They should learn from each other. In order, to promote solidarity and tolerance between two generations, the contribution of youth work is indispensable. Our community center will provide the space to improve the relationships among generations, to build competences of young and old people and support active ageing. The space will be inclusive for all generations. Members can get new information, knowledge or they can create new friendship. The center has opened doors for those who want to learn, talk, meet other visitors or just read the newspaper, have a coffee or do the homework to school. In any kind of moment visitors of community center can find a common speech with someone sitting just around. The community center will be the space for sharing ideas, knowledge, experience, the space full of friendship and joy where people will feel safety and want to come back. Our mission is to connect young people and elderly into one community. Upcoming activities in the community center will be following: • Activities supporting active aging. • Lifelong learning initiatives. • Intergenerational dialogue activities. • Coordination the leisure time activities for young people and the elderly. • Coordination of the educational programs in the community center. • Providing the opportunity to participate in the international projects for young people and elderly. • Creating the methodology of educational program supporting intergenerational dialogue. • Implementing the educational program among elementary schools. • Involvement and support of volunteerism.
