During 14 years of work of our Association, we volunteered over 300 young people. They have been involved in different ways in creating, planning and implementing activities and working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities of all ages. So far we have not been involved in EVS, but we are very motivated to spread the network of volunteers by hosting volunteers from European countries in our organization and by sending volunteers, as well as our clients, to other countries to gain experience, in that way contributing to their personal and professional development. In this way we would like to contribute to spreading tolerance and better understanding of the needs of young people and people with disabilities across Europe and to support the intercultural exchange and understanding between people from different cultures and backgrounds. Through cooperation with student organization AIESEC we have so far hosted students from Brazil, Poland, Turkey and Tunisia, who have spent in our institution one to two months of internship stay in Serbia. Through this programme we gained experience in working with foreign students and learned how rewording and satisfying meeting with people from other countries is for people with intellectual disabilities.
