Soma Science and Art Centre

Soma Science and Art Centre is a vibrant and nurturing home for gifted and talented students. As a public institution under the Ministry of National Education, we are passionately dedicated to sparking curiosity and unlocking the incredible potential within each young mind that walks through our doors. Our mission is simple: to see our students flourish. We move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach, creating a learning journey that is tailored to each student. This journey is filled with enriched, hands-on projects that bring learning to life and challenge our students to think in new and exciting ways. Our community is made up of around 250 bright and curious students, from young children of 8 to young adults of 18. Each one has earned their place here through a thoughtful selection process designed to identify their unique gifts. The heart of our centre is our incredible team. Our principal, 1 assistant principal, and 22 dedicated teachers are more than just educators; they are mentors and guides. We're proud that most of our teachers have advanced master's degrees, with several holding PhDs. But what truly defines them is their lifelong love of learning and their unwavering commitment to our students, which they foster through ongoing professional development. Here, learning is an adventure, not a lecture. We believe that real understanding comes from discovery. Our teachers guide students on how to ask great questions, find information for themselves, and solve complex problems. Our classrooms are buzzing with collaboration and interdisciplinary projects, giving students the freedom to explore their interests and work together to create something amazing. We equip our students not just with knowledge, but with skills for life: how to conduct research, think critically, and manage a project from start to finish. We are incredibly proud to watch them take these skills and shine, confidently representing our centre at science fairs, Olympiads, and research competitions, and showcasing their creative talents in concerts and art exhibitions.
