Stichting CWM Education (Culture.World.Me) is a human rights education foundation in Amsterdam. For more than a decade we have used theatre, storytelling and non-formal education methods to teach and practise human rights with young people and adults across 28 countries, building inclusive societies that celebrate diversity and we advocate, alongside the young people and communities we work with, for the policies that make that possible. WHAT WE LOOK FOR Partners for youth exchanges, training courses and KA2 cooperation who need methods that survive a real group, not a lecture about inclusion. We can host in the Netherlands, send groups, and take methodological work packages (curriculum, testing, trainer LTTA, toolkit, blended formats). We are useful when a project must make participation checkable: who can enter, who can speak, who can stay silent, who can disagree, and who can change the plan. HOW WE WORK Human rights education at CWM works in three directions at once (UN Declaration on Human Rights Education and Training, 2011 — a non-binding pedagogical frame we voluntarily adopt): education about human rights, through human rights, and for human rights. Treaties bind states, not this foundation. We use instruments such as the CRC (especially Article 12), the CRPD, the ECHR and the EU Youth Strategy as design constraints, not as a claim that CWM is a state party. CORE METHODS: Theatre of the Oppressed (including Image Theatre and Forum Theatre), Playback Theatre, Biographical Theatre, improvisation, embodied storytelling and embodied learning. New formats (digital/hybrid, podcast, film, corporate adaptations). A person does not lead a session under the CWM name without induction into the human rights framing and the Quality Framework. LOCAL ROOTS Theatre and storytelling workshops in AZC / refugee centres in the Amsterdam area (2022); arts and disability work with De Opsap and De Witte Olifant (2025); Dutch hosting of European trainer groups in Rotterdam / The Hague; United Against Domestic Violence youth exchange in the Netherlands with a public moment in Eindhoven (2022).
