TARPOL

TARPOL (The Agricultural Strategy and Policy Development Center) is a multidisciplinary non-governmental organization committed to promoting sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring food security, and addressing critical global challenges such as climate change, environmental degradation, and food system instability. The organization operates at the intersection of agriculture, biology, economics, and ecology, driving strategic initiatives that foster resilience, innovation, and sustainability within Turkey’s agricultural landscape. Working collaboratively with stakeholders such as farmers, producers, agricultural workers, policymakers, and youth, TARPOL develops holistic strategies and policies to promote the sustainable use of natural resources. The organization’s activities include capacity-building workshops, hands-on training programs, and innovative projects like the "Food Price Early Warning System," designed to forecast fluctuations in food prices and address agricultural volatility. TARPOL also organizes high-impact events, such as the 2024 conference "How Prepared is Turkey’s Agriculture and Food Sector for Climate Change?" to raise awareness and encourage cross-sector collaboration. Youth empowerment is a core focus of TARPOL. Through Erasmus+ projects, digital learning platforms like the "Digital Agriculture Academy," and mentoring initiatives, the organization equips young people with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle pressing environmental and agricultural challenges. These programs prepare the younger generation to play active roles as informed leaders in promoting sustainability and addressing the evolving needs of the agricultural sector. Led by a team of experts in agricultural economics, food safety, veterinary sciences, and environmental management, TARPOL bridges academic expertise with practical applications. Its activities contribute to national and international efforts to build innovative, resilient agricultural systems. By fostering sustainable practices and promoting social and economic development, TARPOL continues to position itself as a leader in shaping the future of agriculture in Turkey and beyond.
