Directorate General for Life Long Learning

General Directorate for Life Long Learning was established in 2011 under the Ministry of National Education. It deals with all the issues related with the non-formal and informal education and training. There are 6 groups under the directorate: Education Policies and Programmes, mainly responsible for developing and disseminating lifelong education and training strategies and policies; preparing LLL programmes, developing policies to support informal learning; Open Education, mainly responsible for defining methods and principles related with open education system, following the registration, transfer and graduation, guidance and counseling issues in the open education institutions, carrying out tasks for the accreditation of informal learning; Social and Cultural Training and Activities, mainly responsible for carrying out work related with the skill and hobby courses and cultural activities, planning and implementing all kinds of training and socio-cultural training and activities for the children, youth and families; Monitoring and Evaluation, mainly responsible for all kinds of monitoring and evaluating activities of the non-formal education and training; Social Partners and Projects, mainly responsible for preparing and implementing project activities for the services to be realised effectively and efficiently, cooperating with related public institutions, sector and non-governmental organisations and enabling coordination amongst them.
