Business and Professional Women Praha II

BPW offers personal development programs for members such as mentoring, leadership training and e-Business training. BPW projects assist women to: • Enter and re-enter the workforce • Start up and advance their business or profession • Protect their rights • Overcome their limitations • Create a nurturing environment in work, education, health for women development Our Ambition: Equal Participation of Women and Men in Power and Decision-Making Roles BPW is giving high priority to create opportunities for women to rise to the level of top executives by collecting evidence on the return on investment when women become top executives. The aim is to use this testimony to persuade the relevant stakeholders such as companies, institutions, academia and governments that they would perform better if the percentage of females at top executive level increased and reached a par with men. The Czech branch of BPW was founded in 2010 and it has more than 180 active members. The main part of our activities is networking, mentoring and lifelong learning, managing projects supporting women and promoting successful women as role models. We are supporting young women in Young BPW club; we are cooperating with other women’s organizations. We organize conferences, seminars, workshops, roundtables and other events. We started with speed mentoring and we teach other organizations how to do it. We cooperate with other supporting clubs around the Czech Republic. We are part of Czech Women’s Lobby, Chamber of commerce Czech Republic, CSR Association and other organizations. The main purpose of the organization is to develop the professional, business and leadership potential of women on all levels through advocacy, mentoring, networking, skill building and economic empowerment programmes and projects which support the economic independence of women. BPW organizes Equal Pay Day – the biggest conference for women- professionals - the 6th annual conference was attended by more than 800 business women from the whole country. This conference includes all day speed mentoring with 53 mentors – roll models – experienced successful women (see www.equalpayday.cz) Our organization is providing continuing monitoring of the situation on Czech labor market and other gender balance. BPW Praha participates in projects funded by EU, Ministry of Labor and social affairs and Norway funds, we present our skills in many other conferences as for example HR Days – the conference for young people coming to the labor market from schools and universities (www.hrdays.cz ) BPW organizes activities at least once a week - for example meetings with interesting or famous people, BPW cafes, visits to companies, Days of women entrepreneurs etc. (see www.bpwcr.cz ) We are very active on social media – we manage two FB profiles – one for BPW and the other for Equal Pay Day, we have groups on linkedIn and Twitter.
