The Youth Municipal Service is the local administration in charge of youth policies. La Concejal Delegada que ejerce la función de dirección y coordinación de esta estructura fue nombrado por el Pleno del Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Murcia, entre otras, con las siguientes facultades delegadas: -Manage, inspect and promote the Youth Service. -Allow the use of youth premises for appropriate activities We have the following aims: -Promotion of youth participation and associations as a tool for participation, providing the needed resources to manage it. -Create leisure alternatives for young people during weekends and so avoid risks. -Promote artistic, cultural and educational creation of young people through dissemination activities. -Activate educational activities and enable the comprehensive training of students, promoting complementary activities. -Inform and doccument young people about subjects of their concern, provide counselling regarding legal matters, sex, housing,... -Promote actions favouring that local young people approach the European reality. -Offer leisure alternatives (for people aged between 12 and 15 years) and opportunities to relate with other young people, motivating them to collaborate with the protection of the environment by showing them nature. The Youth Service includes four action programmes: -Youth Participation Programme -European Projects and Youth Exchanges -Cultural Activities and Educational Area -Youth Information Centre Staff: 26 members. 18 are youth and socio-cultural technicians and 8 participate in the administration. The EVS will take place in the Information Centre, Youth Centres and in the Area European Programmes and Youth Exchanges. Our experience, since 1995 has been very positive. We have participated in all the initiatives of the Programme. We provide support and counselling to anybody interested in it. Our EVS experiences have been very positive for all parts involved.
