The mission of Employability Town is to help young people to become super-employable by developing their soft employability and enterprise skills. Our Solutions The specific expertise of the company includes face-to-face workshops on soft business skills, an innovative e-learning portal with instant access to a wealth of interactive resources on employability skills, and a consultancy on implementing effective solutions aimed at maximizing young people’s professional potential by directly engaging and upskilling tutors, teachers and youth workers. Employability Town is one of a few companies in the UK that offers interactive group workshops specifically aimed at developing the following skills: online career branding, job hunting via networking, softs skills at the workplace and entrepreneurial mindset. Our Impact In the last 3 years, Employability Town delivered interactive workshops across 20 councils, colleges and charities which have rated our workshops as interactive, practical and having a high impact on young people. Via our workshops, we have boosted soft employability and enterprise skills of 4 675 young people of which 82% strongly agreed that they feel more confident about their employability potential as a result of the workshop. Our Entrepreneurial Journey Employability Town has been supported by the School for Startups, an organisation working with innovative enterprises set up by Dragons’ Den investor. Through that organisation Employability Town has an access to seed funding, mentoring, training and network of over 28,000 startups, small businesses and young entrepreneurs across the UK. Employability Town is also part of the UK's most active small business network – Enterprise Nation – that has helped thousands of people in the UK turn their good ideas into great businesses. In 2015, the company was featured on Enterprise Nation website as one of the inspirational small businesses in the UK. In addition, a founder of the company Klaudia Mitura has gained exceptional achievements for her age in 2016 when she became one of the finalists in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards within the young entrepreneur category. Our Innovative Approach The innovative approach to learning demonstrated by Employability Town has been recognised in February 2014 when the online portal was announced as a finalist in the national ‘Education Innovation Awards’. The national awards celebrate excellence and recognise innovation using technology that within learning establishments across the UK. As one of the key providers of soft employability and enterprise skills training, Employability Town is an Ambassador of National Careers Week – a celebration of career guidance and opportunities across the UK. Our European Involvement Employability Town recognises the importance of cross- border collaboration and that is why the company has joined several European international cooperation projects with Erasmus+ programme focusing on preventing youth unemployed by creating innovative solutions on entrepreneurship and employability. Since September 2015, Employability Town is working with its 5 other European partners on Learn to Learn Entrepreneurship project, an EU- Funded programme through Erasmus+ KA2 – Strategic Partnerships for Vocational Education and Training. The Learning to Learn Entrepreneurship project is developing an innovative online tool that is being designed to support low skilled young entrepreneurs to develop and realize business ideas. In February 2016, Employability Town was successfully selected as an intermediary organization of ERASMUS for Young Entrepreneurs Programme supporting young entrepreneurs in developing further their skills via abroad placements. After a very successful start, in September 2016 Employability Town was chosen by the European Commission to continue delivering Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme in the UK until 2021. In September 2016, Employability Town joined the European Pact for Youth, a mutual engagement of businesses and the European Union leaders. The Pact for Youth brings together representatives for business, education and youth, and the European institutions who work towards boosting the number and the quality of business- education partnerships, reducing the skills gaps, and creating the EU and national policy developments on skills for employability.
