Chamber of Commerce of Umbria

Umbria Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Craftsmanship and Agriculture of is a Public Entity, created in 2021. It replaced Terni Chamber of Commerce and Perugia Chamber of commerce (both established in 1927) a result of the Italian law n. 219, 25th Nov 2016 and the subsequent Ministry of Economic Development’s Decree 16th Feb 2018 that reordered the system of the Chamber of commerce in the entire territory of Italy. The Chamber has today 80 people staff, placed in two offices (in Perugia and Terni). CCIAA Umbria holds and manages the public register of companies consisting of more than 94.000 companies. Its public mission is to enhance the local economy and to represent businesses, safeguarding their interests and creating favorable conditions for their development. The Chamber provides several services to entrepreneurs such as business consultancy, training and advice. It provides information and support on macroeconomic data analysis, business start-up, financing sources, opportunities on international markets, EU marking, IP and consumers protection. It has also an active role in digitalization, touristic and territory promotion. In the field of employment, the Chamber designs innovative supporting measures for local businesses to fight unemployment especially in younger generations including NEETs, involving local stakeholders and possible beneficiaries of the actions. The Chamber activities include also promotional activities to help companies growing in the international markets providing support and training. In digitalization field, the Chamber is one of the National Digital Business Points authorized by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development to help companies to develop in the digitalization of their business. The Chamber is home for Umbria of the Italian Register of Waste Operators and of the Italian Register of Environmental Operators: its activities are related to training and assistance regarding environmental issues. The Register is a crucial contribution to transparency, a reference point for companies that produce waste (and need proper and safe handling) and an important link of the waste accounting system. It is an important asset for circular economy actions. This unique service, which is not provided by other authorities responsible for waste management authorizations, has attracted considerable attention and increasing interest of businesses, public administrations and citizens. Businesses in Umbria are mostly concentrated in commerce, building, and manufacturing sectors. The Chamber managed several national and EU funded projects related to MSMEs, innovation, tourism, digitalization, and training on entrepreneurship and for VET sector.
