Ananda Marga Denmark

Ananda Marga Danmark is a yoga and meditation based service organisation. Our main project is called Ananda Gaorii Ashram, Farm and Learning Center and our main focus is offering hands-on learning experiences in spirituality, community and sustainability. As the name suggests Ananda Gaorii combines a yoga and meditation ashram with an organic farm and facilities for hosting yoga and meditation retreats, youth exchanges, youth worker trainings and other types of cultural and learning activities for schools, organisations and the local community. Ananda Gaorii is located on 13 hectares of land surrounded by rolling green fields near the town of Vig about one hour west of Copenhagen by car and 2 hours by public transport. As well as hosting retreats, trainings and events Ananda Gaorii is a place where people can come to get an experience of living the yoga lifestyle, learning how to grow food organically and living in community. Our daily routine includes morning and evening chanting and meditation. During the rest of the day we engage in karma yoga in the form of hosting retreats and activities, working in the garden and all the work associated with maintaining the ashram, the community and its projects. Ananda Gaorii has a productive and attractive organic garden, an award-winning organic bakery, facilities for hosting 40 people any time of year and facilities for hosting up to 400 people during the summer, camping in tents. Our ultimate goal is to be a hub for culture, spirituality, progressive ideas and regenerative living locally, nationally and internationally.
