The ML Ouest Reunion (MIO) is one of the 436 ‘Missions Locales’ in France which carry out a local public service mission for young people aged 16 to 25. It operates in the west of Reunion Island, a French overseas department located in the southern hemisphere, in the Indian Ocean, more than 9,000 km from mainland France. The territory covered by the MIO includes five municipalities: Saint Paul, La Possession, Le Port, Trois Bassins and Saint Leu. This means a total population of 213,494 people on a total area of 53,606 hectares. The MIO is a non-profit association established in 1991, whose social purpose is to promote the social and professional integration of young people aged from 16 to 25 who are neither in employment, nor in education, nor in training (NEET). It is a member of the Regional Association of Missions Locales in Reunion and participates in the public employment service and in the orientation of youth policies. We have 180 employees, including 95 counsellors, who work to restore young people's confidence and enable them to take part in their professional integration. As it is important to accompany young people in a holistic way in order to remove all their obstacles, we have multidisciplinary teams: counsellors, social workers, animators, psychologists and administrative staff. Each year, around 8 700 young people come to our organisation. We work with a wide range of partners in the youth field: job centres, enterprises, education and training providers, public authorities, other youth associations ... More on https://mio-reunion.re/
