As part of CM, a Belgian health fund, Kazou contributes to a broader vision of positive health. We believe that young people thrive when they are connected, supported, able to participate, and given opportunities to grow. Health is therefore understood not only as physical and mental wellbeing, but also as belonging, purpose, resilience and social participation. Within this vision, three complementary initiatives support young people in different ways. Kazou is one of the largest youth organisations in Belgium. Through holidays, camps and youth leadership programmes, Kazou creates environments where young people build friendships, gain independence, discover their strengths and learn to take responsibility for themselves and others. What starts as leisure time often becomes a powerful experience of personal growth and social connection. Awel is the national helpline for children and young people. Every day, young people reach out with questions, worries, doubts and life experiences. Through anonymous and accessible conversations, volunteers provide a safe space where young people can feel heard, understood and supported. In doing so, Awel helps reduce loneliness, strengthen resilience and ensure that no young person has to face challenges alone. Atelier TKT is a youth hub in the heart of Brussels. It was created as a safe third place: a space that is neither home nor school, but belongs to young people themselves. In a city where many young people have limited access to safe public spaces, Atelier TKT offers room for creativity, ownership and community building, with particular attention to those who often feel excluded. Together, these initiatives represent three essential building blocks of positive health.
