NYC educates future professionals who partake of a multicultural experience, obtain a cross-cultural experience and become attuned to a global spirit. NYC offers Foundation, Bachelor's, Master's, MBA and PhD degrees with its academic collaboration with distinguished universities of the United States and Europe, as well as a number of vocational training programs in a wide range of disciplines. The College employs 118 individuals, one of whom is unpaid (intern). There are currently 1348 registered students in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and vocational qualifications. NYC offers flexible study programs which address the needs of both non-working and working students and young executives, while at the same time NYC constantly enriches the options and he curricula to meet the needs of the local and international labor market. Apart from the College which provides Higher Education the Group includes an Institute for Vocational Training (IEK New York) and a Centre for Lifelong Learning. NYC in Athens and Thessaloniki are licensed by the Greek Ministry of Education. The College was licensed by the Greek Ministry of Education in 2008, and re-licensed in 2012 following a change in the law on private education in Greece which set stricter infrastructure criteria. The latest re-evaluation of the College was performed in June 2016 resulting in the renewal of the College License in January 2017 (Gov.Gaz. 198B/30-1-2017). In addition, NYC Athens and Thessaloniki are accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) as institutions of higher learning. NYC, in keeping with its mission and academic objectives, provides its students with the learning and information resources necessary to succeed in meeting the academic requirements of their program of studies, as well as to be assisted in developing their personal qualities as well-rounded individuals, and, simultaneously, becoming contributing and productive members of society. NYC’s educational philosophy is to widen access to higher education to a diverse student body who prefer to study at their home country and offer them opportunities for an international education, lifelong learning, and continuing professional development. NYC is primarily a teaching institution with a strong emphasis on transferrable skills and student support and a focus on its links with key stakeholders in the labour market.
