Nuh Mehmet Baldoktu Anatolian High School

We, as Nuh Mehmet Baldoktu Anatolian High School, are a public secondary school; like gymnasiums in your countries. Our students are 13-18 years old. We have 650 students in total. Our staff consists of two administrators and 44 teachers. Nearly 10% of our students are economically disadvantaged. 15 of them live with single parents and we have 3 diabetics’ students. We also have some students from the region that the huge earthquake hit in 2023. Other than these, we do not have any disadvantaged group students. As an Anatolian High School, our students are enrolled according to their entrance exam results. We can say that they are among the 2-4% most successful group in Turkey. Nonetheless, their academic success cannot be effectively accompanied with social and cultural activities. This project will enable us to hold more non-formal activities for them. We have applied a Comenius project between 2011-13 with three other schools from UK, Portugal and Finland. It was about the rights of children and human. We had a mobility chance with our Directorate of Education as a local partner in a project, but just for head staff not the teachers or the students. We also carried out a Science Fair as a national project. We also held some e-twinning projects and one of them was about environment just like this one.
