BUNDjugend Berlin

BUNDjugend Berlin, the youth organisation of Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland im Landesverband Berlin (Friends of the Earth Berlin, Germany), is dedicated to empowering young individuals to take action for environmental and social justice. Through campaigns, seminars, and international trainings, BUNDjugend engages youth on a variety of issues, including climate change, energy, food and agriculture, sustainable consumption, mobility, and climate policy. In their seminars, they equip young people with the skills to share their knowledge and experiences, whether through school presentations or by organising workshops, trainings, and exchanges for their peers, following a peer-to-peer model. The organisation operates under the guidance of a voluntary steering committee and autonomous working groups, supported by dedicated office staff and volunteers. BUNDjugend Berlin aims to: • Provide a supportive environment where young people can connect with like-minded peers and take meaningful action to protect the climate and environment. • Support young people in developing and refining various skills, including soft skills, management skills, communication skills, problem-solving skills, and leadership skills, teamwork and creativity - fostering a sense of self-efficacy. • Create opportunities for young people to deepen their knowledge, cultivate their perspectives, and foster active global citizenship through youth exchanges, workshops, seminars, excursions, and campaigns. • Serve as a dependable partner within local, national, and international networks. • Offer informal and non-formal education on climate and environmental topics, covering areas such as climate protection, mobility, urban design, sustainable consumption, agriculture, waste management, lifestyle choices, and alternative economics for schools, multipliers, volunteers, and partners. The organisation is centrally located in Berlin/Prenzlauer Berg, providing workstations, seminar and meeting rooms, and a community kitchen for volunteers and community members to utilise for meetings and seminars as needed.
