Officina Futuro Fondazione W-Group

Officina Futuro Fondazione W-Group ETS is a non-profit foundation committed to building an inclusive future by promoting equal opportunities, combating gender stereotypes, and reducing the digital divide. Its mission is to empower individuals—especially girls and young women—who face challenges in accessing or sustaining employment, through education, orientation, and professional training. The foundation’s flagship initiative, Girls Code It Better (GCIB), addresses the gender gap in digital skills by introducing girls aged 11 to 18 to creative technologies and STEM careers. Since its launch in 2014, GCIB has engaged over 14,000 participants across 18 Italian regions through free, after-school clubs led by teacher and maker coaches. Using a project-based learning approach, girls collaborate to design and build digital solutions to real-world problems, gaining technical competencies and soft skills in an inclusive and supportive environment. In 2024, Officina Futuro expanded its impact with STEM Your Brain, bringing digital creativity to even younger students to further bridge the digital divide. Recognised nationally and internationally for its innovation and social impact, the foundation has received awards such as the European Digital Skills Award (2023), the National Digital Skills Award (2022), and the National Innovation “Prize of Prizes.” It is also featured on the EU Digital Citizenship Map. Officina Futuro Fondazione W-Group continues to drive change by fostering digital inclusion, gender equity, and creative empowerment for future generations.
