Bali Dyslexia Foundation

The Bali Dyslexia Foundation (BDF) is a nonprofit organisation based in North Bali, Indonesia, dedicated to promoting inclusive education and environmental sustainability in underserved communities. Our mission is to support children with learning differences, particularly dyslexia and related neurodiverse conditions, who are often left behind by traditional educational systems. Operating from the North Bali School of the Arts (NBSA), BDF provides alternative, inclusive education that blends creative expression, local arts, and accessible learning methods tailored to the needs of neurodiverse learners. Our campus is built using renewable and sustainable materials, and we integrate eco-conscious values into our daily learning environment and extracurricular activities. Beyond education, BDF is actively engaged in environmental conservation efforts, particularly in the protection of endangered marine ecosystems. Our volunteers and local youth participate in community-based conservation initiatives, such as coral reef restoration, beach cleanups, and marine life advocacy focused on protecting dolphins and sea turtles. We welcome collaboration with international partners and currently host volunteers and interns through service-learning and youth mobility projects that foster solidarity, cross-cultural understanding, and real-world impact. Through our work, we aim to empower both local and international young people to become agents of positive change in their communities and beyond. While we do not provide funding for travel or program costs, we are open to partnering with European organizations and volunteers to explore possible funding opportunities through Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps (ESC).
