Shagaf Foundation for Digital Expression

At Shagaf for digital expression, we aim to create innovative, creative and useful projects that aim at making the youth better express themselves in digital ways( picture, video, voice, text). We want to tell our stories and talk about our experiences and culture in an attractive and creative way. We are three active females from Jenin city (Maysa Alshaer, Ala' Hamamra , May Marie), We established Shagaf to start doing activities in all cities of Palestine, specially Jenin, a stagnant city that has little, almost no, job opportunities or activities. In Jenin, the youth are passive; they don’t participate in social initiatives, this is in part due to the fact that Jenin itself is not active at all, and does not offer them opportunities. We aim at empowering the youth to create these opportunities. We aim to create projects and initiatives that encourage the spirit of voluntary work and initiation. We also aim at empowering young girls whose social environment doesn’t allow them to work outside the town by encouraging them to start their own businesses, and connecting them to people who might help. Our goals in Shagaf for Digital Expression: 1. Encouraging the youth to give all their heart to their ideas, love what they're doing, and do what they love. 2. Encouraging the idea of thinking positively to achieve goals 3. Teaching the youth how to make difference in society 4. Teaching the youth how to employ social media platforms to make real social change. Additionally, how to use these platforms to market and empower their initiatives. 5. Developing youth ability to express themselves through multimedia (Voice, video, picture, text) 6.Encouraging the idea of learning through blogging, travelling and photography, all as means of documentation and learning more. 7. Starting activities related to creative thinking and making positive- change. 9. Empowering young Palestinian females and helping them in marketing their small businesses 10. Empowering young people’s ability to be part of their societies and make positive change 11. Creating a new generation of Palestinian creative, ambitious and thoughtful youngsters 13. Starting innovative projects related to social media, photography and web 14. helping young people achieve their initiatives 15. Creating new Arabic content through social media and working on enriching the Arabic content on the Internet 16. Creating employment opportunities for youth in Palestine.
