Our Provincial Directorate of National Education was established in 1939. In the early years, the Old Government served the house. In 2016 moved to the new building on Iskele Caddesi. The National Education Directorate, which consists of two blocks in the Van earthquake that took place on 23.10.2011, has become seriously damaged due to heavy damage. Our manager, who spent the earthquake process in containers, passed a temporarily rented building in 2014. In 1927, "Van secondary school", the oldest primary school in the Republican era, "Cumhuriyet Primary School" was opened in 1929. Since Van was not a high school, until 1948, young people received high school education outside the province. With the opening of Ataturk High School in 1948, this problem has been removed. There are Science High School, Social Science High School, Information High School, Maritime High School and Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools where our students can register in line with their talents and academic achievements. The winner of the Metropolitan Statue of Science on 12.11.2012 brought some changes to the field of Education-Training. Van Provincial Directorate of National Education with the newly established Tuşba and İpekyolu District National Education Directorates undertakes the coordination role of the District Directorate of National Education which is numbered 13e. The number of personnel including the teachers attached to the Provincial Directorate of National Education is 16,327 and there are a total of 1420 schools including the districts belonging to the National Education Directorate. Information activities as Eurodesk Point; our schools, other public institutions and, if necessary, NGOs and foundations. These informational meetings focus on European opportunities and provide guidance on projects such as Erasmus +, TUBITAK, CFCU, IKG, Eastern Anatolia Development Agency (DAKA) projects.
