The Network of Youth Engagement is a youth organization of young people aged 18-30 years old in Katerini (Greece) that through bottom-up interaction they share their concerns and formulate sustainable proposals for the local development of the town since 2016. The organization aims to promote youth work and social participation. The youth of the city faces a variety of obstacles in economic and political participation, thus our organization persues the engagement in the city’s reality. In order to have a more structured approach on this subject we are focused on five pillars: -Active citizenship -Sustainable development -Culture & Sports -Education -Phenomena of social pathogenesis Based on the pillars mentioned above, we have organised the following projects: -City’s council simulation for the youth -Public Consultation for the Greek National Youth Strategy -Youth City Council in Thessaloniki -Participatory budgeting for the youth in Thessaloniki -Public youth consultation for the city branding of Katerini -Environmental actions including cleaning beaches and forests Furthermore, members of our organisation participate in the Greek National working groups for the Structured Dialogue of the Youth and Europe Goes Local. Our vision is to interact in a local and European level, exchange good practises and improve our daily lives on multiple levels.
