Youth and Employability City Council

Our Service works with NEETs, young people aged 16 to 30 who are unemployed and lack of motivation. The activities that we do daily with the young people are: - Career counselling - Information about educational and employment resources - Empowerment to entrepreneurship - and support to apply for a job –. We are located in a big rural area of the Murcia Region. Our geography is caracterized by an agricultural extension with 972 km². In this area is difficult to access to some social and employment resources by public transport, that makes the access more difficult to young people with few opportunities. The current Youth Employment Service crew has worked since 1 year ago, and it has served more than 300 young people. Six months ago we have informated to them about the ERASMUS + programs, specifically, about Youth Exchanges and the European Solidarity Corp. We show young people these programs like a way to improve their social skills and employability level. During these months, we have advised young people about Local Volunteer Proyects and we have helped them to find Eramus + Proyects and how to apply for them. The non-formal education learning opportunities will be for us an useful tool to improve the social and occupational skills of the young people in our area. We really believe that living an experience in a foreign country it will be for the young people from our city the best opportunity to get knowledge and skills that they need to improve their social and professional development
