Enjoy Sicily

The cultural association ENJOY SICILY born in 2011 as an informal group of young people who love their territory and willing to revitalize the local community by organizing cultural, sports and artistic activities for the benefit of all concerned. Since 2011 the group of Enjoy Sicily, made up of social educators, teachers, psychologists and fans of European policies, has carried out several projects for the promotion and dissemination of culture and European citizenship among young people. We participated in many international exchanges that allowed, in 5 years, more than 50 young people from the Messina area to live an integrating experience, unique and profoundly motivating. Enjoy Sicily was established as a formal cultural non-profit association in 2016 to continue our mission of promoting no formal education among young people using European and international mobility opportunities and methodologies. Nowadays, our association offers training (use of social networks, personal brand, improve your CV and cover letter, search for a job in Europe, seek opportunities for international mobility, how to present a European project etc), for promoting the values European, non-formal education and development of personal skills among young people at risk of social exclusion. At the same time, we realize campaigns on social networks for the promotion of our country internationally and we work with various artistic associations, cultural, social and tourist attractions of the province of Messina. Our group is aware of the real needs of the territory in which it lives and wants to make his own experience to the community to contribute to its progressive development and improvement of the social field. All the members of our association had the opportunity to participate in European mobility projects included in the Erasmus + program in the past and Youth in Action and Lifelong Learning Programs. We are therefore fully aware of the benefits that these activities bring to the people, both personal and professional benefits. Today our group, after several experiences abroad has decided to focus on the land where they was born and grew up because we believes in the possibility of being able to make experience in benefit of the community and can thus improve the reality of the local community, plagued for years by serious problems economic and social that prevent its progression and move away from the European reality. Hence the need to act with better training specific direct actions through the use of non-formal methodologies that improve motivation and increase the interest among young people for training activities. Nowadays, our range is mostly local, although the participants in our activities can benefit of international initiatives that allow him to live the European experience with young people from other countries, remove prejudices of race, religion and / or sex and contribute to the creation of the future European generation. Since 2011 to present, our group has been conducting training activities with social and cultural centers of the province of Messina, organized promotion of the European Days event at the University of Messina, participated in conferences, seminars and international training courses through Erasmus+ Program and participated in several international trade promoted by the Erasmus+ Program able to put together more than 50 young people of the province. Our group consists of one educator, one psychologist, one expert trainer and 2 youth workers, all with international experience for participating in European programs such as the European Voluntary Service, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig European youth exchanges and training for youth workers. This allowed us to gain enough experience to be able now to plan concrete actions and developed by ourselves for the benefit of the local community. Our main objective is to provide the youth of our province of those tools that Europe makes available to all young Europeans by promoting the principle of equal opportunities. In this way we want young people of our community, especially those at risk of social exclusion, may live educational and highly stimulating learning experiences that can contribute to a gradual reinsertion into society and give them a new personal and professional opportunities. Tiziana and Antonino have the necessary experience to be able to carry on all activities concerning an Erasmus + program project, the search for international partners to the preparation, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of results. As for the participants' management work, is that Tiziana Antonino have already done preparatory activities prior to departure both for the EVS action that international trade, providing the necessary information about the Erasmus + program, the project in question, the rights and duties of the participant, the economic, administrative and medical. The use of non-formal dynamics and methodologies in performing this preparatory activity was the highlight of our group, managing to involve all participants and increasing their motivation.
