The Girl Guide and Scout Council of Croatia is an open form of cooperation of Guide and Scout associations in Croatia. The Girl Guide and Scout Council of Croatia (GGSCC) was founded on May 21, 2005 wishing to emphasize - throughout the activities of guide and scout associations - the commitment to promotion and protection of child rights, the rights of women and marginalized social groups, as well as all other human rights, respect for the dignity of every human being and the integrity of the natural world. The objectives of GGSCC are: - Contribution to the character of children and young people, particularly girls and young women, and towards achieving their full physical, mental, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and members of local, national and international communities. - Commitment to promote and protect the rights of children, women and marginalized social groups, as well as all other human rights, in accordance with relevant international documents of international organizations, and their practical application The Girl Guide and Scout Council of Croatia is achieving its purpose and objectives through respecting and applying the values of the principles of tolerance and equality, autonomy and responsibility, friendship and cooperation, mutual understanding and helping the needy, and multi-cultural and international cooperation, regardless of origin, race or creed. Activities and scope of work: - Organization of various forms of education and non-institutional self-learning of children and young people, particularly girls and young women, in accordance with the objectives of GGSCC - Organization of leisure time based on an active relation to nature and its preservation, recreation and active programmed vacation for youth (meetings, walks, trips, multi-day activities, etc.) - Initiation and implementation of initiatives and activities of members and other citizens in order to promote and protect child rights and women's rights, education for peace and nonviolence, and the affirmation of the rights and activities of marginalized social groups, as well as participating in similar initiatives and activities of others - Organizing cultural and entertainment activities, round tables and panel discussions, seminars, and other forms of work, and through practical work and experience - Implementation of projects of joint activities and inclusion of the average youth population with children and young people with special needs, marginalized and vulnerable children and youth - Fostering and promoting voluntary work - Training leaders - volunteers for the realization of programs, methods and forms of work applicable in activities of GGSCC and wider - Publishing of expert journals and publications, thematically related to its activities - Developing cooperation with other similar organizations and institutions at home and abroad.
