Iele-Sânziene

Iele-Sânziene is a feminist organization that runs educational and sustainable programs for Romanian youth. We primarily address the lack of critical information regarding menstrual health and sexuality education amongst children and teenagers and we aim to inspire young people to become activists for gender equality, inclusion and acceptance. Our vision is a society where teenagers have access to services and information about their reproductive health and rights. We conduct menstrual health and sexuality education workshops with children and teenagers and we are initiators of an advocacy campaign for free menstrual pads in schools. So far we have worked with more than 1500. Through civic educational projects dedicated to young people, we aim to facilitate conversations about feminism and gender equality in Romanian society and provide future generations with the necessary tools to identify gender inequality and contribute to long-term changes. We have conducted several projects targeting young people: a magazine created by teenagers for teenagers, a feminist club, a mentoring program, a youth exchange.
