Balkan Initiative for Tolerance

BIT was established in May 2010 by joining competencies and skills of program managers, trainers, and volunteers with many years of experience in civil society. Our aim is to promote tolerance in the Balkans by encouraging activism and creativity through intercultural dialogue. In order to achieve the goals, BIT employs non formal education and lifelong learning methods. By using art and creative methods of work such as photography, dance, theater, graffiti, and new technologies as an alternative ways of learning and expressing oneself BIT empowers young people to recognize their abilities and creativity, to think critically, and to act efficiently in their community. Our special focus is work with marginalized groups and minorities. We advocate for livable communities and availability of social services for all citizens.
