Portatori Sani di Sorrisi ODV is a non-profit association that was founded in 2013 and operates for the pursuit of civic, solidarity and social utility purposes, carrying out mainly in favor of third parties activities of general interest pursuant to art. 5 paragraph 1 of the Third Sector Code. It has been on the front line for ten years to defend the rights of the people, minors, migrants and above all of those who live in conditions of hardship, illness, disability, where these rights are often marginalized or completely trampled on. It is a group of people "with red noses", a sign of recognition of the figure of the clown who strips off the characteristics of an ordinary person to look at the world through the eyes of a child. Portatori sani di sorrisi are assiduously present in the various wards of Salento hospitals with clown therapy, and they also take care of: - the primary needs of families, offering them direct help and economic support for the various treatments; - logistical support, with the colorful pediatric camper that accompanies the little ones on difficult journeys away from home; - to humanize the pediatric wards, bringing furniture, colors and lights suitable for children. In this regard, "BABALU'" was born, the dragon-shaped drip case that combines children's great passion for animals with a game they can sit on while they are tied to a drip, so as to make the child an invincible knight who fights against disease, with the help of his dragon; - of social tourism through the birth of the first Social Village, which offers 7 days of vacation in order to restore lost serenity to all those families who experience a disability or who have experienced periods of long-term hospitalization due to serious illnesses; - social mobility service for the weakest groups through the Social Taxi made available to all municipalities and structures that request it.
