Friends of Children of Serbia

Prijatelji dece Srbije - Friends of Children of Serbia (FCS) is the oldest organization for the promotion and protection of children's rights in Serbia and the region, and trough our activities at the same time we work with young people. We have existed under this name since 1990. We are an association of, at this moment, 25 local organizations of Friends of Children. FCS is recognized as an organization that in all phases of its activities includes young people and advocates their active participation in all areas of life that concern them, including direct with decision makers. We represent and include children and young people in all areas of life in accordance with their age, development and interests, because this is the only way we can count on social development in accordance with democratic principles, European values and culture of dialogue and tolerance. Our vision: Every child in society has equally good conditions for growth and development, quality education, health and social protection, is carefree and protected, lives in a family or family-like environment, an inclusive society and a healthy environment. Our mission: Promotion and realization of children’s rights and improvement of the position of children and young people in Serbia, both through direct work with children and young people and through influencing public policies concerning children and young people. We define our work through five programs: Culture and media, Education, Inclusion and social protection, Safety and health, Healthy environment and sustainable development.
